It is a famous beach at Panama Pacific, just 30 minutes southwest from the city of David, and 35 minutes east of the Costa Rican border. Playa La Barqueta combines all the beauty of a white sandy long beach with the excellent comfort of the lodging in a beach resort or in the nearby city of David.

        

How to get to La Barqueta

From Panama City: Go west on the Interamerican Highway to David (6 hrs), then follow the directions below to Playa La Barqueta (30 min).

From Paso Canoas (Costa Rican Border): Go east on the Interamerican Highway for 30 min. At Concepcion, turn right towards Alanje. Cross Alanje in the direction of the sea (south) and reach Paja Blanca. There you are at Playa La Barqueta.

From David: Follow the road to Guarumal, continue to reach the sea. (30 min)

At only a few feet of the fence that border the Wild Life Refuge is located a five starts resort.

The development

At about a kilometer from the hotel is the new area (La Barqueta Nice) that it is being developed.

The village

        

     

Just between the hotel and the development, there are some old houses of the fishermen, still in use, where you can spend your time in the beach, leaving your car under the protections of the shadows, while you take a delicious local meal.
